About BBF

We are excited and honored to bring the RMC back to Brown Bottle Farm (BBF) for 2026. The same site as the 2018, 2022, and 2024 Convergences, this location has proven to be the most ideal location of any of our gatherings to date – thanks to its wonderful caretakers, semi-forested setting, diverse workshop spaces, and all-around awesome vibe. We look forward to strengthening our relationship with the land, its fungi, and the community that has come to know its many offerings.

BBF is located in the small farming community of Mulino, Oregon, approximately 25 miles south of Portland. A diversified and certified naturally grown vegetable and mushroom farm, BBF is entering its tenth season to provide non-GMO, open pollinated, and heirloom produce, mushrooms, and herbs to farmer’s markets and restaurants in the surrounding area. The farm’s steward has over 12 years of experience in herbalism, farming, and mycology and tends the land’s 40 acres.

BBF is rural and workshops take place outdoors or in rustic spaces – settings that emphasize the natural beauty that fungi offer. Some areas are wheelchair accessible, but the grounds are mostly unpaved and gently sloping. Most spaces are outdoors and spaced several hundred yards apart, though most are close together and either indoors or shaded.

Weather-wise, we've always had perfect late summer / early fall weather at the RMC. But as the end of September leans toward the start of the rainy season in Oregon, we suggest all attendees prepare for the chance of cooler temps and chance of sprinkling or rain.

Please note that Brown Bottle Farm requests that no outside pets come on site with attendees. If you have a registered service animal that you must bring with you, please contact us prior to registering to discuss your needs. Thank you for your understanding.

RMC Policies

Health & Safety

Drug, Alcohol, Fire, Firearms, and Fireworks Policy

The Radical Mycology Convergence is a drug-, personal fire-, firearm-, and firework-free event. Alcohol will be served on site to attendees aged 21 and over (with valid identification). We ask that people drink responsibly and to keep the drinking family friendly and appropriate. Cigarette smoking is allowed in designated smoking areas only. Anyone deemed by RMC staff to be overly intoxicated, in possession of firearms or fireworks, or at risk of impacting the success of the RMC due to substance use may be asked to leave without a refund.

Safer Space Statement

To create a healthy environment for learning and building a welcoming community at the Radical Mycology Convergence, behavior that demeans, marginalizes, or threatens people because of personal characteristics that harm no one (e.g. age, gender, ethnicity, religion, mental health status, race, culture, sexual orientation, general appearance, income level, living situation, experience in social or mycological work, or being a parent or a child) will not be tolerated. Anyone deemed by RMC staff to be intentionally breaking this code of respectful conduct may be asked to leave without a refund.

Disagreement Navigation

As the topics covered at the RMC can challenge common assumptions about mycology, some attendees may disagree with a presenter’s opinion or lecture. In such cases, we encourage consensual and respectful discussion between the parties. If the discussion is likely to be lengthy, we ask that it be held after the presentation ends, so that other attendees can learn from the presenter. Presenters are not required to engage in debate or discussion about their presentation. Attendees non-consensually confronting or engaging in debate with any attendee, presenter, or staff member may be asked to leave.

The opinions of presenters and performers do not necessarily reflect those of the RMC or its staff. RMC staff will not provide mediation for disagreements. If an attendee is unsatisfied with the information or opinions provided by a presenter, we welcome feedback here or at the feedback station at the Hyphal Tip.
