Monitor the In/Visible Signals Art Exhibition in the Barnalaria and help attendees with interactive installations.

This team assists in the identification and processing of fungi collected throughout the RMC for the Rad MycoBlitz.

Comfort with mushroom identification and familiarity with PCR sample work is ideal.

Help with cleaning up Brown Bottle Farm on Monday, September 28, and, if needed, Tuesday, September 29.

Hang out with RMC attendees aged 12 and under and teach them about fungi through a variety of activities and games. These activities will be primarily planned out by the Childcare crew lead, though volunteers are welcome to contribute to this planning process if they like.

Relevant experience caring children is required.

Clone Zone assistants support RMC attendees in practicing basic fungal closing skills.

A strong background in proper aseptic cultivation techniques is essential for ensuring high quality training and effective habits are presented to attendees.

Support the infrastructure of the RMC by floating and landing where needed. This role is largely an on-call gig, meaning you may need to step away from a workshop at a moment's notice if needed. Some shifts there will be little to do, while others may be filled with various odd jobs (e.g. supporting the behind-the-scenes flow at the special events, serving drinks, or helping move or set up materials for workshops or events).

This role also requires monitoring and maintaining areas related to compost, water, and sanitation, which includes cleaning the hand washing and drinking water stations, and re-stocking and managing the composting and portables toilets on site. This position involves the transport of human waste from the compost toilets to sealed containers.

Manage and monitor the audio and video recording equipment used to document workshops and other special RMC events.

The equipment will be set up to be as easy to use as possible and we will provide training on the workflow via Zoom in the weeks before the start of the RMC. That said, please only apply for this crew if you at least some experience and comfort with using mirrorless cameras.

Members of this crew help with miscellaneous tasks in the weeks before the RMC – thus enabling them to enjoy more of the RMC! These tasks will likely be hands-on, so volunteers will need to be located in the Portland area.

The Health & Safety crew will be on-call throughout the event to assist with minor injuries, illnesses, or other ailments not requiring hospitalization. As such, volunteers on this crew will not be required to cover their entrance fee balance if they do not log 16 hours in this role.

Members of this crew need to have proof of current first aid, first responder, EMT, or higher level of training.

The Hyphal Tip Crew is at the heart of the RMC. Crew members welcome, check-in, and orient attendees, answer questions, update the schedule board, sell merchandise and raffle tickets, and build excitement for the day's events.

This is a busy position, with lots of time spent connecting with fellow mycofolk, so it is best suited for those who multitask easily, don't get readily overwhelmed, and who have strong communication skills and a lot of patience. Ideally you would have also attended a prior RMC so that you are familiar with the gathering.

Volunteers on this crew will be stationed at a workshop area for the duration of a given shift, where they will manage the (simple) sound board and help teachers prepare the space, run quick errands if needed (e.g. to grab supplies from across the farm), and to clean and reset the space after each workshop.

The technical skill required for this position is minimal, though applicants comfortable with audio equipment will be prioritized.

This crew is responsible for greeting all RMC attendees at the entrance gate, ensuring that they find their parking space, and park in accordance to our parking map and their tickets.

Support the documentation team by capturing the small and large moments of each day of the RMC.

Work closely with the RMC team to help capture short video clips, stories, and interviews from each day of the Convergence.
