Alongside the RMC’s workshops, a diverse range of activities and special moments fill the weekend to help you discover all that fungi offer.
Evening Events
- Kick off the RMC Thursday night with the RMC’s Keynote Address and Opening Ceremony, followed by a nighttime foray in the Brown Bottle Forest in search of fluorescent fungi, a participatory conversation with Fooble, Oregon’s mushroom-dwelling dragon from the Land of Dreams, and finally mushroom story telling by attendees.
- Friday night, join director Joel Penner for a special screening of the award-winning film Wrought before celebrating the In/Visible Signals Art Show’s opening, a mushroom-centered theatrical performance, music from Dumpster Joe, and a late night harp sound bath on our forest-nested stage.
- Saturday eve, Joe Mycelium sings original mushroom-themed songs, and you're invited to contribute to the RMC’s Talent Show or MyCostume Competition before dancing under the full moon to Limonjaya and Pink Opaque.
Food & Drink
- Join the bespoke 5-course wild foods tasting dinner with wild foods expert and professional chef Cameron Dunlap of Morchella Events.
- Enjoy free GongFuCha and Kava tea service multiple times throughout the weekend.
- Enjoy farm-fresh mushrooms and tasty dishes at the RMC central eatery, The Spitz.
Arts & Science
- Brown Bottle Farm’s barn is transformed into an international art show featuring dozens of fungi-centered artists. The show also hosts 15 of some of the best films from the Fungi Film Fest along with a 10-minute virtual reality experience where you’re a mushroom cleaning up pollution.
- In the center of the farm is the RMC’s citizen science hub, where you can practice lab-based mushroom cultivation techniques, sample soils for beneficial spores, and learn how DNA is processed to aid in mushroom identification.
Games & Entertainment
- Ease into the RMC with Thursday’s game of Capture The Conk.
- Form a team for the MycOlympics and compete in multiple fungi-themed games.
- Take part in the kid-friendly scavenger foray.
Meet & Greet
Shop & Trade
- Peruse the Mycelial Marketplace of fungi-centered artisans and creatives.
- Join the RMC Barter Faire, where attendees trade and sell their fungi-related arts and crafts.
- Swap mushroom cultures with fellow cultivators at the Spores & Strains Culture Exchange.
- Get your book signed by authors on Saturday.
